I am British, have no set budget, and am willing to go anywhere (other than a warzone). Where would be your recommendation and why? Serious answers only please.
Thank you

Why don't you get a round the world ticket for £1400 girl?

Australia is brilliant. My next stop is South Africa.

All depends on what you like, I'm a huge fan of Thailand, it has everything from FAB beaches to lovely people and a really interesting culture.

I was in Zanzibar last year and that is a stunning place, with Stone Town that is really intresting and some of the most amazing beaches I have ever seen. There are also the Red Colombus monkeys that can only be found there and they are really cute and dead funny!

A website I have looked at for some ideas is http://www.escapeworldwide.co.uk , though they seem to only do long haul places!

Many British citizens travel to the Caribbean. Barbados, Antigua, Mexico. Most Caribbean islands are duty free. (jewelry, cameras etc)They like the warm climate, beaches and Caribbean water. They also love the USA. The money exchange rate is great for traveling and purchasing products much cheaper here in the USA than Britain.

Traveling is fun. Enjoy.

ANTIGUA - Because we are a little piece of paradise in the Caribbean. We have 365 LOVELY beaches, warm, friendly, inviting accommodating people. Delicious local dishes, lots to see and do. Check out http://www.antiguanice.com and see for yourself.

Lovely historical sites, hikes, explore the coral reefs - where you feed the fish. Great night life - clubs, etc... so much so much so much..... Oooh I forgot to mention the Sunsets....... breath-taking and the moonlight sky with the stars all aglow...... We do not have Seasons, just wet and dry seaon.. so we've got sunshine all year for at least 90% of the time.

Hi Mermaid...

It's got to be Turkey...what a wonderful country... and fantastic history too.

I took the FezBus 'hop-on, hop-off' tour for a month a few years ago as part of a 3 month trip around Greece, Turkey, and the Balkans...

Here is where I went to (starting and finishing in Istanbul):
* Gallipoli (Eceabat) - TJs TOURS & HOSTEL (link below)
* Pergamon & Troy
* Kusadasi & Selcuk
* Ephasus & Marmoris
* Koycegiz
* Saklikent Gorge (tubing down the river gorge!)
* Fethiye/Oludeniz - where they filmed 'The Blue Lagoon' !

- then a 4 day gulet cruise around the islands to Olympos

* Olympos (Tree Houses on the beach)
* Egirdir, via Lake Golbasi
* Gorome, Cappadocia (that's the place for a balloon flight!) - here you can see the underground cities where the Christians hid from the Romans...plus the beautiful, surreal landscape of the Fairy Chimneys!

For the Gallipoli battlefield tour, I recommend you stay at TJ's Hostel in Eceabat, and ask for the tour of the battlefields with Kenan - he is a world renowned historian, and authority on the Gallipoli Campaign.

It was an amazing journey ... I highly recommend it...and you can do a trip like that in 3 weeks no trouble on a budget... I stayed at hostels that were clean and comfortable, and they only cost about £5 (€8 euros) a night and the bus tour (from place to place in air-con bus) is around £135 GBP or €200 Euros!

OR

Go to Madrid for a few days, take in day trips to Salamanca, Toledo, and Sevilla, then go to Andalucia in the South, the home of Flamanco, the awe-inspiring Alhambra Palace in Granada, the breathtaking Mezquitta in Cordoba...and Sevilla

travel betwen the cities by train, itr's easy...

stay in Hostels, you'll meet loads of friends, in a safe, clean environment, and have lots of fun...

OR

How about Croatia and Bosnia... start in Pula (just over the border from Triest in Italy), head to Split to see the Roman Emperor Diocletians Palace, then get the ferry down the coast of Dalmatia past the islands, stay on the island of Hvar for a few days of sun and sand, then head to Dubrovnik (Pearl of the Adriatic) - from there get the bus to Mostar and Sarajevo in Bosnia, and then the train to Zagreb... finish with a few days art Plitvice Lakes...

You can find cheap flights thru SkyScanner.net

I've put the links below for you...

Happy Trails

Philip
