In most socialistic/communistic countries, politics is seen as disreputable. In China, they are just starting to value attorneys again.

Most people don't LIKE politicians or the business of politics, but that does not make the profession disreputable.

I don't know about disreputable. I guess that would depend on what type of government you're talking about...fascism, dictatorships...But, when you have one major ruler for a country, there are always going to be those who are not happy with them. Then there are those who are. One cannot please everyone all the time.

It wasn't till it became all lawyers. When we had citizen statesmen and the regular folk that had common sense America was better off.
