As I'm sure you're aware, the name Laird is Scottish, meaning a feudal superior. So thinking in those terms, any name you like will go well with it, particularly a "strong" sounding name. And nothing is wrong with the name Steven Laird ~ which you may want to consider. Laird means Lady or Lord in Scotland so it could be a really regal name.
