I was left to deal with it myself when I was wee, don't know how I'd react if I was a mum

Have you seen "the handle that rocks the cradle". That's how I would react, I would tell them that I could hurt them without leaving bruises or evidence

Depends on the kid and the age of the kid. If your 6 year old is being bullied by a 10 or 11 year old I would intervene but if two teens were going at it I would let the teen handle it themselves unless they ask for help.

If I'm told about it...normally we discuss what's been happening and why. Mine are both older now so that seems to have mitigated a good deal of it.
When they were in grade school....I always listened carefully and offered advice without judging or rushing in...confidence is built slowly over time.

I leave it at first for them to work it out, but once it gets to the point of hands being placed on them, then I step in.

Moose, if wee Jimmy Cranky is being bullied you need to get your asss down to the school and sort the headmaster out straight away.......go now........go on...do it now.

I was bullied once by a teacher and I sure wish my mother had gotten involved, but she really didn't care and it did affect my life.

Get involved. My mom didn't stand up for me, but I will not let my kids face bullies on their own.....

I would go to the school and request to have a meeting with the parent

My daughter is home schooled..but she knows how to sort people out if necessary..although I might intervene if it were necessary.

Depends on the level of it - if it's physical, yes you should
