I just snapped my high E string, i've never re-strung this guitar before. My last was an electric. Do i use strings for an acoustic or an electric guitar?

An acoustic - electric guitar is, essentially, an acoustic guitar that electrically amplifies the acoustic sound. It is designed and constructed to play without amplification, just as any standard acoustic is. Strings designed for acoustic guitars would be the recommended choice.

Get an acoustic string but if you have never re strung before take it to a specialist who will do it usually for free when you buy the string.
