With some tests you can take them 5 days before your missed period. If you are still getting negatives a week after your missed period than you may want to make an appointment to see your doctor to have a blood test done. It's common for home pregnancy tests to not pick up a positive because of low hCG (pregnancy hormone) levels. It took 3 weeks for me to get a positive with my daughter...who is now a very healthy 11 year old. A blood test would be your best bet.

Good Luck!

How long are your cycles and when did you menstruate last. It's hard to give advice with so little information. Pregnancy test are normally quite accurate. They can detect hcg the day you miss your period so I think the test is accurate. However some women don't produce hcg as quickly as other women so there is a slight chance you may be pregnant. I would test again. If it is negative then just relax and stop stressing and your period will come.

It can take a while for the test to pick up HCG hun. I know it's very frustrating but don't get worked up because you may not be pregnant. I had a very late period for the 1st in years and then it came, i was all freaked out...I still don't feel right so i'm going for a blood test

When in doubt, take another test. A pregnancy test picks up HCG levels in your body. The longer past your missed period, the more the levels will be up, and easier to indicate. You can get a false negative, but not a false posative.

Take another test. It took me being a week late before my tests would go positive. If its still negative then see if you can get a blood test at the doctors.

You can test immediately after you've missed it.
