1) Do you consider yourself a 'paleo-conservative', or do you consider yourself a 'neo-conservative'? And why?
2) From which sources do you get your news and other relevant info?
3) Have you heard of presidential candidate Ron Paul (R)?
4) Would you vote for for him? Why / why not? And if not, then who else would you rather vote for, and why?
5) What is your view on the 'paleo-conservative' vs. the 'neo-conservative' agenda? Do you feel that you have much in common with the other branch?

You can answer all of them but the first one. And even on that one you can still give your opinion ;-)

1) Neither. I believe in an original intent interpretation of the Constitution, but not in adherence to traditions for tradition-sake.
2) Fox, CNN, WSJ, USA Today
3) No
4) Depends on his record, results, and intentions. I'd rather vote for someone who had a record of adhering to stated positions on issues.
5) Each has agreeable positions, but I don't completely agree with either.

1. Paleo. Believe in a legitimately smaller govt with lower taxes, not this cut taxes and keep/increase programs approach of the 1996-2006 Congresses, and a relatively isolationist foreign policy.
2. CNN, local newspapers, Fox News, major networks, local alternative weeklies.
3. Yes
4. No. Sam Brownback is my desired candidate. Paul is more libertarian than I am prepared to accept.
5. No, I think neo-conservatives are worse than liberals.

I find paleo conservatism far more appealing than neo-conservatism.
I get my news from various sources in order to achieve a balanced view.
I've heard of Ron Paul the Libertarian. In fact, I once voted for him.
And yes, I find paleoconservatism to be an interesting change to be considered as an alternative to liberalism or neo-conservatism.
Thank you for a subject worthwhile replying to.

1. I'm a neo-conservative, as I was once a Democrat and still socially liberal. I'm pro-choice/pro-gay marriage.
2. Internet & Dallas Morning News
3. No
4. I don't know.
5. I'm not a paleo-conservative as I'm not religious and I don't believe in a religious identity for the US.

Ron Paul turns me off due to supporters Alex Jones and other conspiracy kool aid drinkers. I don't consider myself a "neocon", but refuse to buy into the whole "globalist conspiracy" "police state" paranoia.
That being said, I never trust a man with two first names, or one who votes to go to war only to vote against funding it. Paul bases this position on the logical fallacy that Iraq AND Afghanistan are "Constitutionally illegal" wars, but would do well to study Adam's Quasi War, and Jefferson and Madison's Barbary Wars I and II. I don't see how the framers of the Constitution could misinterpret its intent.

I have no idea what the distinctions are....more useless labels I suspect.
Paul is very much a libertarian - not what I would call a 'conservative'.
Would I vote for him...no.
(BTW I am the rarest of all political life forms - I am a TRUE Independant...neither Dem nor Repub.)

Same as kingstubborn, except for #4. Tom Tancredo would get my vote. His stance on the Border issue wins me over.
