i had the tablets from 36 weeks and they didnt do n e gud really they just gave me real bad BH and the doc told me to stop takin them coz it gave me trapped acid in my gut or sumthin. but n e ways i went to 40 + 4 so yeah didnt help me but i heard it helps alot of people. things didnt get goin for me until i went into hosp because my feet had swollen to the size of watermelons and she checked me out n stuff n sed i was fine n then she gave me an internal (which killed cuz his head was still quite far up) but she sed i was 3cm and im pretty sure she gave me a sweep. anyway she sent me home at about 4pm (was only in there 2 hours) so got home watched peter kay n had some take out (chineese i think) and then went to bed at about midnight, woke up at about 2pm wasnt feelin gud so DH called ambulance n wen they came they give me gas n air (which funnily enuf made the pain come on stronger but still took the pain away) n e ways got to hosp was 4cm then a few hours later (12 hours) i gave birth ( a v painful 1 but most fulfilling) to a healthy 10lb 12oz baby boy have called him kit, he's now 15 months cant wait for another lol i must be mad. but n e ways it will happen wen it happens unfortunatly. gud luck let us know hopw u get on best wishes take care. xx

I drank raspberry leaf tea everyday for the last 2 months of my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies. It did not bring on labour - both babies were 2 weeks late - but I believe it made my pushes stronger / labour easier than with my first child i.e: I think it strengthened my uterus. Also my womb seemed to contract quicker afterwards.
P.S. I tried all of the other methods for bringing on labour too and none of them worked!! If I had heard of the tablet form before I would most likely have tried that too - those last weeks can be exhausting - make the most of it if you can though it will soon be all over.

Raspberry leaf tea doesn't put you in labour. It helps to tone the uterus and make birth easier. Having a cup of it at 41 weeks isn't going to do anything, I'm afraid!

Red raspberry leaf doesn't help start labor, but it does help strengthen the uterus and get it ready for labor.

The only real things you can do to speed things up are:
Have sex where both partners have orgasm. Semen will soften the cervix and get it ready for dilation. Female orgasms can sometimes bring on contractions.
Going for walks can help to bring on contractions.
Have your doctor or midwife strip your membranes, that often times will dilate the cervix and start contractions.

Don't try anything else without your doctor's consent. Many "natural" methods can cause harm to your baby.

actually raspberry leaf is used to lower blood pressure in expectant mothers who are having hypertension related to the pregnancy. It leaches iron from the blood and can cause the blood pressure to drop significantly. It can be dangerous to mom and unborn baby if not taken carefully. I have never heard of it inducing labor.

I am alternative health practitioner and I would not recommend it. One thing that I would suggest if you are not happy with that is rasberry leaf tea. I have woman that are overdue coming in for advice but because of insurance I cannot recommend the taking of any supplements until after birth. After birth you can relax in a lavender bath to promote healing. Please check with you PHN before doing any of the above

Forget all that nonsense, just have a good old fashioned shag to speed things up
