To tell you the truth : "i do not know anymore!
I used to be a person of good intentions, but the responses to most of these - (and I have to be careful, I do not give the impression I mean towards this website!) For I may be misunderstood!!
I am talking about good intentions and acts not just mouth-piecing what I'd do to be of help, in my life, towards others, even stretching it, or trying to "pay it forward" into a vaster space of influence!
For most, my returns have come with hidden resentments, never explained! Anger at what would be deemed at times, "how dare you try to help?"
Exploitation off the most caring and sincerely offered of myself.
Paranoia, as to WHY I"D want to be of help.
Accusations as to WHY I 'd "PROBABLY be offering to
help . . etc, ad nauseaum.
Only once in a while would my intentions be seen for what they sincerely were.
That would bring a hope again to me, towards my fellow human beings, even though something in me with a tiny voice would alarm : Are you not resigning yourself?
But what the hell, mankind is synonymous with the cloud-ride hope!
Nowadays to my OWN misfortune, I try not to be of so much GOOD intentions - Nor would I waste my goodwill, or time through bad intent.
I rather stay in the middle, perplexed, not knowing what direction to take, even though many times I recognize the help I try to offer as Good Intent!
This is a conundrum indeed!
But what else to do in the realm of mankind!
If you ever do the Math, and come out with the Best of answers, never say the wrong or the right, mind you . .
Would you allow me to be the first one informed?
Sincerely, no nonsense!
Grace.
Bye.
P.S.
I have a feeling I've just earned myself a position within a hole in a sheet, through which put my head, exposed - so as to become the target for some hard balls a'coming!
A premature Ouch!!!

Define "win".
If you're idea of win means you get recognition and prestige for your efforts, you might want to reevaluation your "good intentions". However, if you mean winning as in trying to do good and getting a negative result. It happens. Sometimes because we do not choose the right "means to an end".
Just keep this in mind:
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."
-- Edmund Burke
. Irish orator, philosopher, & politician (1729 - 1797)

Of course they do, but it's results that really matter, not the intention. "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." Kant would not agree, of course. He got quite passionate about the value of a good will, even if it was so hindered it could accomplish nothing.

If you think you are basically good because you come from a good Source, I'd say yes.
If you are basically good, to intend to do something bad is to go against your nature. This makes you feel not okay, so you don't become happy.
On the other hand, if you intend to do something good, you feel that is your real nature. you're closer to truth that way. Then, you become happy and you win!

Yes it is your innerself which will advocate its win with yourself but to mass and society it might not be. Don't forget great Confusious was sentenced to death for advocating that earth rotates round the sun.

Absolutely.
"Be kind to each other in your homes. Be kind to those who surround you. I prefer that you make mistakes in kindness rather than that you work miracles in unkindness. Often just for one word, one look, one quick action, and darkness fills the heart of the one we love." (BM Teresa)
