Is there a physical location or online store that you know of? (Don't worry, I'm not actually trying to buy a Giraffe, just curious)
Do you have any links to sites where I could find this out?

Where could someone buy a giraffe legally or illegally? I realize that this would most likely be illegal and I do NOT plan on actually purchasing a giraffe. I just want to know how someone could buy one on the "Black Market", whether or not it is legal is not relevant to me at this time or important.

If you live in North America and don't own/operate a zoo then you can not obtain one legally and keep it in your home. If you have enough money to afford a giraffe I would suggest contacting your local zoo to see if they would allow for you to purchase one and keep it their. You may incur added expenses due to upkeep and food but you will have a giraffe.

The Animal Welfare Act has a licensing process for any dealers, breeders, research facilities or public exhibitors of "exotic animals", which as defined in the law would include giraffes.

But there's a catch -- If you're just keeping it as a pet, there's no federal law preventing you from owning a giraffe. (There are a few different state laws, though. Check out the link below.) In addition, giraffes are not on any CITES list, which regulates the international trade of certain species.

So theoretically you could buy and house a giraffe. And believe it or not, there are dealers out there. Some are licensed, and some aren't. None advertise on the internet.
