I am going to a surprise birthday party for my aunt turning 60. Unsure of what to get her, since she is well off, I only want to spend $30-40. She really has everything, anything creative? thanks.

An experience. You should probably take her somewhere.

Honestly, if you could make a matted frame with old pictures of her and some friends back in the day, or of family members she adores and/or include a sweet poem in calligraphy it would really please her I'll bet.
If she is in a low income, a gift card to a Cafeteria or restaurant like Ryan's which have a seniors buffet, will be a large help!

I always try to do something special for the " older " people in my family ... lol ... !

Like get all the grand kids together and have pictures taken - each of them wrote something special about why they loved granny so much and I framed it ... she loved it ... !

Make a video tape with people wishing her a Happy 60th Birthday ... family ... friends she hasn't seen in a long time ... etc ... !

Gift Certificates are always nice - maybe buy her a new book with a coffee mug to go with it ... name a star after her ... a cool purse or something she would never buy for herself ... a bucket full of " movie " things ... popcorn, movie tickets, candy, games, alcohol ... etc ... or pick one of her favorite hobby's and buy her some new things to go with it ... !

A jewelry box is nice, since she probably has some lovely items. Another possibility is a small etched glass display box. We got one for my husband's grandmother last Xmas and she really likes it. You can also look at local antique shops in your area for unique items, many of which are inexpensive.

The only thing that I can think of would be a set of
1000 thread count sheets but that would cost $80 - $100.

Buy her a gift certificate to have a pedicure or manicure. Another great idea is pay for her to have a body massage, they are great. You might have to shop around for a good price. Hope this helps! Cocoa

How about a gift card to her favorite restaurant or store?

You could even make a donation to a charitable cause in her name.

Perhaps a collage of photos of those dear to her (including you) or maybe arrange to have a DVD of video clips from the past of her children and family.
