Have you tasted babyfood? Blech.

Do you breastfeed? (Just for my own data gathering. I have noticed breastfed babies are more likely to turn down non-seasoned food -by seasoning I mean herbs and spices NOT salt and sugar)

My son has eaten nothing but table food since he started solids, he eats off my plate generally except if we eat at different times. He LOVES anything with garlic. I eat tonnes of garlic and as you know that appears in breastmilk. What you may not know is studies show that breastfeeding babies drink MORE milk (on average) when the milk tastes like garlic. Why wouldn't that apply to food as well.

He has been scarfing down steak and apples and all sorts of things since 7 months (I did a few weeks of fruit only). Babies can chew fine with gums.

Obviously avoid honey and any potential allergen as decided by you. There is no definitive list of when to start what food (such as nuts, chocolate, wheat, dairy, shellfish, soy, etc)

Here is a great site on why baby-led introduction to solids is safe:

She's old enough that you can give her some table foods & there is a large variety out there. Try some mashed up green beans, peas, soft cooked carrots, sweet potato, oatmeal, vienna sausage, ect...Dry foods like plain cheerios (not the honey kind!) biter biscuits, oyster crackers, ect.. are good if she has a few teeth. Experts say it sometimes takes about 14 different tries for a baby to acquire taste for a certain food, so you have to try several times with same food. Remember, if it's something she hasn't had, give her a few days after eating one food before introducing a new food, just in case of allergic reaction. That way you can rule out any other foods.

If the smooth foods annoy her, try giving her some finger foods to try. Try giving her a handful of Cheerios for a snack one day, and if she gobbles them down like they're the BEST thing she's ever had, try small pieces of whatever you're eating - with the exception of shellfish, anything with nuts or honey, hot dogs, or grapes.

As long as she's getting about 32 oz of formula or breastfeeding a day, then you can just keep experimenting with different textures of foods until you find something she likes.

At 10 months she should be able to handle most soft foods and some slightly harder foods. Apples, sliced into small pieces, bananas, sliced, peaches, sliced or diced, pears most any fruits. Goldfish, graham crackers, saltines, broken into small bites, vienna sausages, small pastas, boiled potatoes.

Just watch her while she eats and give her small pieces. My children like to suck on pickle slices by that age.

good luck.

Start out slow. Feed a little bit at a time. Mix it with some breast milk or formula if it makes it easier for her to eat. She's 10 months so she should be eating soilds by now.

I don't blame her. Taste that food and you will quickly agree with her.
Mashed potatoes, well boiled pasta, banana, malt o meal hot cereal. Anything soft enough to where she can chew it and not choke.

Well try boiling some potatoes and pumpkin or sweet potatoes or some corn. Basically some veggies that are light. Then once you do that blend them them until they are like a puree. See if she will eat that.

Give her apple slices.....she will pulp the slices with her teeth. Vienna sausages, sliced boiled eggs, small pasta (elbow, small shells), sliced bananas, peaches, oyster crackers. By now she should have enough teeth that she should be able to chew them up into small enough pieces.

other than baby food, i started feeding my daughter
corn beef hash (can) and eggs with cheese for breakfast,

a baby other than baby food, but watch the portions because
they may be more fattening.....
