No one is "forcing" anyone to change whatever hatred they have been taught, or choose to believe.
However, Gen. Pace crossed the line into hate speech when he made his prejudice public in an official capacity. CEOs have been fired for much less. He needs to be fired right away.
One just needs to substitute the word "blacks" or "Jews" into his diatribe and you will see how discriminatory his remarks are. Oh but sorry, I forget, that would require an open mind.
Do I need to remind you about the 99.99% of all ads, billboards, tv shows, movies, radio, and all other media that push the heterosexual agenda down our throats every day? People who ignore this are either blind or hypocrites - pick one.

First, single and married aren't sexual orientations.
Second, there isn't any sort of agenda to force anyone to "accept", the actual agenda out there would be those like yourself who seem to think that a person's sexual orientation relates to how well a person can do a job. It is no different that the mindset that kept women from certain jobs and positions in the military.
Third and most importantly, the morality of another's sexual life with a consenting adult isn't your decision to make for other people. Unless a spouse of a military person finds out and wishes to divorce an unfaithful person, there are no military regulations that dismiss that person from duty. Homosexuality should be no different.
If you stand with Pace, you stand with bigotry.

The only thing immoral is General Pace's bigotry and intolerance. Funny that being gay is such an issue, while Baptists have such a high divorce rate. Funny that Newt Gingrich can go wild over Clinton & Monica, and yet Newt was having an adulterous affair at the same time. The hypocrisy is astounding. If anything, I am glad Pace said what he did, to give further exposure to the appalling state of homophobic bigotry.

I agree with the fact that no one should be forced to accept anyone's beliefs, sexual orientation or whatever the situation may be. I also thought that everyone had a right to free speech. So, I hope General Pace stands by his beliefs and does not apologize for his free speech!

Only in America........why am I not surprised.
You know, Israel, not exactly a wimp in the military world, has had openly gay men and women serving with distinction and courage without any hassle or so called unit cohesion issues. This kind of fear seems so American, I must confess, given the hoopla over this, I'm to wonder if America is truly the home of the brave anymore.
Are most of the Generals and Conservatives in the US this cowardly.......I know they all aren't but this guy does the US a disservice by being so fear full, and let's be clear, it is fear, pure and simple.
Edit: and once again mr. pink gets it wrong. Service in the military should not be discriminatory on the basis of sexual orientation alone, note the word alone. Please, don't be so damned hateful of us because you weren't man enough to keep your wife.......I mean really, get over it already.

Then why should homosexuals and bisexuals be FORCED to accept heterosexual orientation?Single and married aren't sexual orientations, either.
General Pace is immoral, publicly bashing members of our nation.
IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THIS, PLEASE SEND ME AN EMAIL EXPLAINING WHY. I WILL NOT DISCRIMINATE, NOR MAKE IT PUBLIC. IT IS ON MY PROFILE PAGE.

Heaven forbid that people should begin to accept one another. That would spell the end of civilization as we know it!
I do agree with your statement that seems to indicate that standing with General Pace is immoral, however.

You bet we have an agenda. It's the same 'agenda' that people like you used to call 'the ***** agenda'. Who wants to sit next to colored people. I can remember this kind of bigotry!
twenty-five countries now allow OPENLY gay people to serve; none have ever had to go back. Like other minority groups; we will overcome. I agree with the posters ahead of me. for thousands of years Christians have been pushing the straight agenda on up--even to the point of burning at the stake, that's pushy!!!
I stand with General Schalisckasvili (can't spell it right), we are fit to serve; this is especially inportant now that we are fighting people who behead gay people.
