Of course you can keep them! it's the same thing :)

the girl that actually cut my hair the other day is in her first tri mester of pregnancy .. if she can work with the fumes for 8 hours a day .. i'm sure you can tolerate them for an hour!
it causes no harm to the baby! all my friends who have ever gotten pregnant kept up on their hair colorings!

good luck! God bless!

Yes you can keep coloring your hair. I've heard that some doctor's recommend you wait until after your first trimester, but mine didn't and I colored my hair then. You can talk to your stylist and just tell her that you're pregnant. She'll know what precautions to take. Make sure you stay in a well ventilated area and you'll be alright. Another thing you might ask her about, there are some hair dyes that are made now specifically for use during pregnancy and they work great. I color my hair red, and have used these products my whole pregnancy, and they work as well as any I've ever used. Good luck!

I wear highlights too. I have black hair and highlight it a light brown which actually turns out about 3 different colors - brown, blond, and red. It is neat how it turns different shades, but anyway back on the subject - when I was pregnant with my third, I highlighted just like usual, but it turned out platinum. Your hormones will change the chemicals in the color and you probably will not have the color you intended for.

highlighta are actually better than color as it doesnt actually touch your scalp. Hair color is not as harsh as it used to be and is fine to continue during pregnancy but it is best to wait til your second trimester. Ive continued highlighting my hair through my pregnancy but i held off until i was around 14 weeks as dr ordered. Hope this helps somewhat.

Mom of 3 is right. You can do it, but because of the hormones in your body right now, you may not get the color you want. I would wear a mask too just to be on the safe side. I colored my hair dark brown like 2 weeks before I gave birth. My baby is absolutely gorgeous! she is so healthy - i love motherhood!

I was watching a show about pampered mothers to be and on the show they said the best time to color your hair is after your 12th week. Color and highlighting both by then are just fine.

I was told by my doc to shy away from coloring/highlighting my hair for the 1st trimester. She said after that, it's safer, but not to make a monthly habit of it. It's the fumes that you inhale that they're most concerned about, so check w/ your own doc 1st and also ask you hairdresser. She/he has probably had clients in the past w/ the same question.

yes you can highlight your hair! and colour your hair! colouring your hair when pregnant can be tricky...you might not get the results that you want..meaning it will change your hair a different colour or the product wont take to your hair..

Its not the safest thing to do. But if you have to tell your doctor and wear a mask so not to breath in the chemical.
