I was born in a devout Mormon family, and exited when I turned 37. The more I learn about this religion, the more intrigued I am.

(See: exmormon.org and also, LDS.org)

This is a nearly 13 million member church, founded by a New York scoundrel in 1830, but has evolved into a respectable and influential world power, thanks to brilliant filmmaking, annual whitewashes and a few sincere, good men and women.

Tune in to their Conference in early April, and you'll see its allure.

Yet, visit the website where thousands of ex-Mormons post the reasons they left this faith, (the only true church), and you'll never let their missionaries over your threshhold.

As I said...intriguing. We live in a wonderful wierld, and life is beyond strange, thank God, coz I detest boredom.

Born and raised Catholic

Converted to the LDS Church

Finally was "worthy" to go to the temple.

Endowment was so strange I decided to investigate it further.

Learned of the seedy history of the church and wrote a letter to Salt Lake requesting my name be removed from the membership.

I received a letter in response stating that I was excommunicated for writing my previous letter.

.... Kicked out of church for writing a resignation letter... kinda like being fired after quitting, huh?

Well, I was raised Mormon and I'm still Mormon. I am a Woodruff (yeah, one of THE Woodruffs) and have no intention of losing my testimony or going apostate. I have every intention of raising my children to attend church, pay their tithing, serve missions, go to Seminary, read the Book of Mormon, and generally do good to all men.

The filmmaking is rather good, isn't it? My favorite is and always will be Johnny Lingo.

I think your attitude is pretty bizarre...you are an ex/anti-Mormon who is teaching people to listen to the prophet during Conference? Kind of twisted, but you might be a good missionary, in a back-handed way. Yup, you're right. It's a wild world!

I was raised in a Mormon family, and I will stay in the church no matter what. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints (aka Mormon) is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I know that I that it is the true church, and it makes me sad knowing that others do not know of the truths that I do.

My parents were Baptist and I'm agnostic. The whole old testament sounds like this: There oncewas a man who broke a law and recieved a lifetime punishment. All his descendants received the same punishment. That wasn't enough either, so he and all his descendants were also sentenced to death. The rest of the old testament sounds like a justification for a people to take over someone elses lands in the name of love.
In the new testament, the teachings of Paul do not match what Jesus taught, so why were they included in the Bible?
It doesn't make sense to me, and when I tell people it doesn't make sense, I'm told I don't have fath. Faith in what?

I am not with the faith of my parents. In addition, I almost became a Mormon. When I learned from the original Mormon sources that Joseph is a false prophet, then I left that!
