Hello,
If you can look at a map if Ireland, and go to the Atlantic side of the map, and find it as a large inlet of water from the Atlantic, and it is where the Shannon river exits Ireland, and this river passes through Limerick, on its way to the mighty Atlantic Ocean. It is also the Birthplace of Sir Terry Wogan, who like me was Born in Ireland, but lives and makes his living in England, Sir Terry is exeedingly rich and I am not.
Geographically, Limerick is situated in the far west of Ireland and has a Castle and quite a violent history, it seems to have settled down a bit nowadays, but the nightlife can still proove to be a small bit Violent, but I don't go there anymore, I will stick to my home city of Galway, and the mountains close to it, I do hope this helps you,...Bye......Tony M

Limerick is in the mid-west of Ireland. It is not a quaint little village its a beautiful city with a population of 52,560 (2006). It gets a bad reputation from an ignorant few, who dont seem to realise or care that the trouble in limerick takes place in a few housing estates in the suburbs of limerick city.

Limerick is beautiful, friendly & fun, and its home to the best rugby team in the world MUNSTER.

Limerick is the capital of Limerick County, Republic of Ireland. Don't know whether you wanted the County or the town, but the spit is on the head of the Shannon estuary. I don't know what part of the world you're from, but I can tell you it is quite beautiful. The locals were a bit reluctant at first, but once they'd got to know me they even accepted me. I guess many real Irish folk don't want to give up their roots and heritage, and I have great admiration and respect for them for that!
