My hyacinth from last year has resprouted in the smallish pot I bought it in. There are two additional smaller shoots that aren't doing as well as the big one, so I want to transplant them. Any tips on separating and transplanting them? I'm sort of gardenally challenged.

The babies from the mother can simply snap off ( if ready) from the mommy bulb. They have grown separately from the mother bulb, attached only at the bottom.

Break, hand separate or use a clean knife.

put the baby bulbs in separate pots buried about 2" below the soil. Water and place them in the sun.

I don't think they will blossom this year...you can try watering with a WEAK solution of plant food.

Its very easy. Remove the bulb clump and pull apart the bulbs. You can plant them into pots or into the ground- just make sure the roots are pointed down.
