Dust in was good. I believe it is alcohol that needs to be banned. Grass should be allowed in privacy of homes. The bad rep that comes from grass is young teenagers smoking some good stuff and not being able to handle it. Alcohol causes anger and loss of self control whereas grass makes you mellow and PEACEFUL ! When all those so called peace talks come together if they would smoke a good dubbie things would be a lot better !!!!!!!

100% FOR

Pros-
$- A whole lot of revenue through taxation. The cost of producing marijuana is virtually negligible, it's value is severely inflated because of the risk involved in cultivating, transporting and selling it. A government study (1) claimed over 35 billion dollars worth of marijuana is grown in the U.S. annually. If the price stayed the same,( which is highly unlikely) the profit margin would be historical.

More $- This does not even take in to account hemp. Hemp has been used for over 10,000 years, has thousands of uses, and is one of the most common crops in the history of the world. The U.S. is the only industrialized country in the world where industrial hemp is illegal.

Even More $- According to a harvard study (2), the government would save $7.7 billion on money spent enforcing marijuana prohibition per year by legalizing marijuana.

Yes, Even More $- This does not include the cost of housing those jailed for marijuana. There are over 135,000 people incarcerated for marijuana(3). It costs over $22,000 per year to house each one(4). That's about $3 billion a year.

Less Crime- Anyone involved in any level of the penal system will tell you that incarceration creates more criminals than it rehabilitates. A stoner is not a criminal before he goes in...

Stop the gateway effect- Marijuana actually is a gateway drug, but only because it is illegal and incorrectly portrayed. Marijuana leads to other drugs for 3 reasons:
1-It is lumped in the same "BAD" category as much worse drugs. When youth find out that it is not as bad as they were told it is, they question what they have been told about other drugs as well.
2-It's illegality lends it a counterculture status, which also embraces other drugs
3-Most people who sell marijuana also sell harder drugs. Eventually, the purchaser is bound to get a free sample...

CONS

1-Increased usage

I think it should be legal from a moral and logical perspective.

Pros:
- save tax money wasted on fighting the war on drugs
- manufacturers responsible for product safety
- reduce harassment of citizens for victimless crimes
- would be easier to find some if wanted

Cons:
-store prices might be quite higher than street value
-marijuana being a gateway drug could influence increased use of other drugs that are more dangerous
-might be unavailable after certain hours at night or on certain days of the week, much like alcohol in some states.

It's hard to say. I think if liquor is legal, why can't pot be legal? I would like to see it legalized but to be fair I would have to try to be objective. One pro is that we could smoke it legally. Also, the government could tax the hell out of it and use the money for social programs. One con is that we'd probably see more DUI deaths. Also, how many potheads do we want in positions of high responsibility? Just my thoughts.

i'm all for it,,,as long as the gov treats it like alcohol,,,,which is a way worse problem than marijuana,,, i think the key word of all though would be "hemp" because it would produce a lot jobs for farmers agriculture industry in general.i think people make to big of a deal about marijuana ,,,granted i dont think children should be exposed to it.but legal or illegal people will still do what they want.and with that its 4:20

They say weed is better for you then Cigarettes.
But I think if we legalized weed, a lot of people
would quit smoking it because they lose the thrill
of being "Caught" and yes some people do smoke
weed for that reason. Some people smoke it for
the reason of just smoking it to get rid of pains.

I don't think it's harmful if you know where you are
getting it from. You may get some that is quite bad for you.
And may be laced with something.

Plus they say it helps with alot of problems now-a-days, such as cancer and a few other things.

Yes to legalisation.
Pros!
Good for people are in pain everyday and find weed helps them relax
Would take the temptation out of wanting it because it then becomes legal.
Tax on it could be put towards better healthcare

Cons!
It would probably become more expensive
Teenagers would treat it like a cigarette and there would need to be an age restriction

PRO!!!!
many studies have shown the medicinal benifits of using marijuana and as a person with fibromyalgia, it would do wonders for me but I will not use it so long as it's illegal...sadly

Pros: Reduction in drug-related crime. Possible fiscal revenue if state-regulated (like ABC liquor stores and the lottery).

Cons: Increase in potheads.
