Your eligibility probably is only considered by each situation or pregnancy. Just call the Medicaid office and ask how often your eligibility is checked. I think once you are considered eligible for Medicaid for the pregnancy, that's it. Any changes during the pregnancy won't affect it.

Yes they will change everything with a new income in the home. Better to report it now than have them find out. They should not take away your medicaid since you are pregnant but if you get any money or food stamps it may change the amount. Good luck.

im not sure .. I got married last july and (here in california) they said that you have to go to DMV and Social Security within 72 hours of each other (because of 9/11) .. but I'm not sure about the insurance? Personally, I think if you are 8 months pregnant .. maybe you should wait until after the baby is born to change the insurance (that's only a month away). You can change your last name at DMV and Social Security before you contact your insurance. I'm sure there is a grace period with the insurance.
I have Blue Cross and all I did was contact them for a name change on my ins. card.
good luck! God bless!

hey! i can help, im on medicaid, and just turned 40 weeks today, i got married on the 16th of feb, so like you, recently, i actually informed the medicaid office before, because i was really confussed, she told me, that my husbands insurance would not affect anything just yet, and that medicaid can actually be put on as a second insurance, so whatever isnt covered by your husbands insurance is covered by medicaid, i actually got my name changed with the SSA just two weeks ago, but still havent done so with medicaid, but its better to go through medicaid now, otherwise alot could end up messed up in the end. good luck

Yes you need to report your marriage within 10 days(or at least that is the way you report changes in Florida and Ohio so I am assuming it is the same elsewhere)or you can get in trouble.
They are gonna want a copy of your marriage license and probably a copy of your social security card with your new name as soon as you get it. You should also apply for that ASAP.
Don't worry about losing your medicaid coverage....even if he were to be over income you will still be covered until your 6 week checkup and baby will be covered until at least his first birthday.

Yes the other reader is right you should report any changes in income to the Meical aid. If they find out you are withholding information you may have to pay back any and all medical visits or treatments that you have taken since the day you wed. If you are still low income with your husbands wages you still may have benefits coming. Do not wait they can hold your income tax refunds until this money is paid. Check with your husband and see if he can put you on his insurance.
You may be able to get discount health coverage if you check in your local health offices. They may be able to give you WIC or other assistance if you need it.
Good luck

You have to report it. You have nothing to worry about in regards to the medicaid coverage. You won't be dropped. It says so right on the webpage under FAQs. You can get in trouble for not reporting the change, so really there is no reason not to. Best of luck.

You can get in alot of trouble if you don't report it....welfare fraud...and you could face a fine or jail time.
Chances are since you are so far along and he only works part-time...they will let you stay on medicaid. But you have to report it :)

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. If they don't know then don't tell them. If you do then they would probably stop your medicaid because you husband is supposed to support you now. So leave it alone and if they send you a letter and ask then you tell them. If not count it a blessing that they didn't.
