So I'm displaying a lot of typical pregnancy symptoms but the test was negative (3 days after my period was due) and there is still no sign of my period. How likely is it to change? If I don't have my period (I have always been punctual) when do I really know if I'm pregnant...or could it be something else? What role would my birth control pills play into this?

Yes, my fiance and I have sex regularly anywhere from1-3 times weekly. The strange thing is that my period has always been punctual especially with the bc pills. Today I'm four days late. Oh, and I'm not stressed more than usual...?

Well, here's the thing. Anything can chance a woman's cycle and for no reason. Schedule a doctor's appointment if you truly aren't sure and don't trust the tests. BC pills can play a role in it too; it can delay things (synthetic hormones) is someting your body has to adjust too. When I was on BC; the first month I wasn't punctual, but I wasn't pregnant either. Best wishes!

If you want a definite answer - call and make a doctors appt. There are several reasons a woman might skip a period - and only a doctor can do a blood test to detect the amount of hCG in your system - which is the hormone that is being tested in your urine. It might just be that the levels are not high enough yet to determine it!

Good Luck!

howdy! :) regrettably you are able to no longer examine a try after 10 minutes or so. each try has a max time for it to be seen precise. What you're starting to be to be seen become an evaporating line and not probably a great. additionally, it relies upon on what time of day you're taking the being pregnant try, in case you are trying returned, try it in the morning whilst your urine is maximum centred (aka the hormone would be maximum many times happening), as antagonistic to different cases of the day the place your urine may well be watered down that may produce fake readings. try taking yet another attempt to take the end bring about the timeframe indicated on the kit. in the adventure that your nonetheless uncertain then head to the docs! they are able to accomplish a blood try that's the main precise style of being pregnant detection. good success!

If there are not enough hormones in your body it could read negative. It could just be too early for the levels to be high enough for the test to read. I have one child, but my sister-in-law has six. She says that if it reads negative and you think it might be wrong, wait a week or so and take it again. Tests have the greatest margin of error when reading negative. When it says positive, it's rarely wrong.

Well birth control pills put hormones into your body--so they can mess up your cycle--and if you ahve been under any stress, etc..that can also influence your cycle--it could defintely be something else--take another test and if you still don't get your period and it comes out negative again--talk to your doctor

Wait until you are about a week late and retest. If you are on the pill you are probably not pregnant. The pill can change your period sometimes, make it late or early. After the next test see your doctor. They may change the pill you are on. Good luck.

A Blood test is always the most accurate way to find out if you are or are not pregnant. You should go see your ob/gyn just in case it may be something like a cyst in your tubes or something. My wife had this several times. Better to catch it early.
