Coming burns up all of the hormones in your body and it takes a while to create a new supply.
Some recover sooner than others, though. I was suprised to read here the other day that some guys can keep going. Of course, some penises don't lose their shape after ejaculating, just the extra hardness. And others get super sensitive afterward and the guy doesn't like to be touched at all for a few minutes.

You have to look at the sexual act as the only evolutionary way to procreate. Thus, after the ejaculation another act shoudn't have any sense or importance, as like as it's happens in the whole animal kingdom! Besides we've to consider that sperms need some weeks to be ready completely and since in the epididymis (testicles) there isn't a great amount of sperm, physiologically libido tries to go down. By evolution and progress for human the sex then gained a different meaning being pointed towards pleasure and enjoyment mainly. Great ancient Roman & Greek culture taught us a lot about that!
All along clever lovers, good perfomances, profuse sexual organs and sensuality became important sexual goals!
While the most part of men are able to carry out one intercourse only, some guys are able to start the next one with no pause even. Lastly, the recovery time (wayward pause) can be short (10-15 min.) or lasting many hours. Those all are genetical factors.
