I have had nausea for about 1 week now, and i am supposed to be having my period now and i don't have anything but a light bleeding of blood that looks old, not fresh, and it is not heavy. My breasts hurt like normal, but no real cramping like i usually do. I am worried i may be pregnant...am i? Can i still get a light period like this? or is this due to birth control pills? ive taken them one month before in the past and it didnt affect my period and its regularity. i missed one day of taking the pill this entire month, it is possible i may have gotten pregnant or that th epill just didnt work.

Please tellme of your experiences

(don't tell me to get a test ..etc. i know i need to do that, but i want to wait a bit)

you could very well be pregnant if you have been having sexual intercource, protected or not. Light period like bleeding could be your period, just alittle off this month. It could also be implantation bleeding or you could be one of the women that have regular bleeding during pregnancy. Starting Birth control(witch is not 100% effective) can also be known to mess up your periods, I've never had that problem but my sister did. Like you said you already know you need to get a test but you might also want to make an appointment to see your gyno, she might be able to help you figure out what is going on with you body and cycles better. Nausea and breat tenderness can be known as a sign of pregnancy but can also be caused by PMS and other thing like stress. I can say from my own experience I had regular period like bleeding for the first three months of my first pregnancy, I didnt even know I was pregnant. Good Luck, I hope things work out for you.

The truth of the matter is that not even the pill is %100 percent effective in preventing pregnancy (been there). So yes, there is a chance that you are pregnant. You can get some slight spotting and be pregnant, as it may be bleeding from the implantation of the fertilized egg. While I cannot tell you for sure, it sounds like you might be pregnant.

You most likley aren't pregnant; the pills can have different effects each time you take them.
Missing a pill can cause you to have some bleeding and it is also possible to still have a period while pregnant
However if you only missed one and you've continued to take them since the missed dose your going to be okay. Not to be morbid but by taking the pills you are basically causing an abortion each time the sperm and egg meet.

My roommate in college used to get her entire cycle completely off by missing one pill, but it was never like that. My guess is that you are pregnant. I have done some research on the topic, and birth control pills are not nearly as effective as they are supposed to be. So, maybe you didn't get pregnant from missing one pill. Maybe the pills weren't effective. My suggestion is to research your symptoms on www.webmd.com. You can still get a light period in the first month or two of your pregnancy.

Go to an OBGYN in your area. I had light bleeding with my daughter. It may be a possiblity that you have a bun in the oven. It could also be stress or have you changed your diet. I would see if this happens one more month. IF it does go to the pharmacy to buy a home pregnancy test OR go to the doctor and tell him/her what's going on.

Were are not magical internet users here. No one can say for sure that you are indeed prego.

You need to take a test or see a doctor. Don't be ignorant. You could be suffering from something serious. But yes, those could very well be signs of pregnancy.
