Your catalytic converter is stopped up. You need to get it fixed ASAP, it can do serious harm to your engine.

The rotten eggs smell is probably from the catalytic converter on the exhaust.

If it is when it is running it is your Catalytic converter. There is nothing wrong, it breaks down exhaust into simpler chemicals. Often the smell is rotten eggs or kind of a wierd metallic smell. I have a Mitsbishi and I think it has the smelliest Catyl-a ever!

Post this question in automotive and you will find more answers to this it is your catalytic converter.
And yes you do have something to worry about if you smell it means that your converter is bad and needs replaced if you operate your car to long with that smell it is harmfull to the car and eventually you will have more expensive problems to deal with besides the cost of a convertor.

Go to dealer or reputable garage and get your catalytic concerter checked out. This can be a very expensive problem to remedy - sorry !

catalylic converters they all smell the same on cars,lovely farmyard smell and the thought of being in the countryside.

The smell is produced from your catalyc convertor and is nothing to worry about. It is the by products of combustion.
