in iraq. what purpose are they serving?
is it really to produce an organised society (what we think is an organised society) or do we just want to protect our own vested interest in the oil reserves that are there?
Once they have obtained their organised society can the troops come home then or will they stay, in order to protect that society from outside terrorism?

the reality is they are there to help replace the goverment that was destroyed years ago, until the police can hold authority there. Most tropps are doing the job of the police, the iraqi army or training iraqis to carry out this job.

The motives for this vary massively. From humane reasons to oil.

Technically the bombings are not really terrorism, it is really an ongoing war between different religious groups within Iraq for who will control the country.

i think they are there to help to put in place an infrastructure so that the people of Iraq can eventually rule themselves again in peace. i also think its an impossible task. but, whatever , they will do their level best because our soldiers are the best trained in the world. they may not believe that they should be there but now that they are they will try to do the best they can for the people
