Some people are unaware that they are downloading or using items illegally. This is especially true for photos. Others just don't seem to understand how this hurts/affects the artists involved. Still others don't care one way or the other. They take what they want with no regard for right or wrong. If it's not legal, I don't download or use it.

I used to download stuff illegally A LOT more, but since I have iTunes I'm lazy and just buy stuff there. So the only illegal things I do are watching TV shows on youtube.
But before it was mostly convenience. It's hard to find a lot of less popular bands' music on things as big as iTunes and all.
I've gone to so many concerts and the bands will actually tell the audience to download their music illegally, they don't care, simply to get their music out there. They are the people who it effects, and if they say they don't care, why wouldn't I?
But my parents knew about it, I've actually burned them CDs with songs I bought on things like Kazaa and all. I don't own any file sharing programs now, only because I'm afraid I'll mess up my new computer.
Good luck with the project, hope I've helped =)
Sara: You failed to mention what we should do if the artist is TELLING their fans to download their music illegally.

Oh, they think of they are nameless and invisible while the actuality of the undertaking is their IP is recorded and with the recent regulations in place, the proprietors of the digital media can call for the server records. merely like each thing else that replaced into good on the cyber web as quickly as upon a time, downloading is coming to an end. the telephone companies and places like Walmart will start up extreme offering of action picture downloads quickly. I anticipate the cyber web will grow to be a 2-tiered affair and we will could desire to pay admission cost for the DSL speeds we savor on the instant. think of, I nonetheless have an previous textbook that declares: "If porno offends you, stay off the internet. Porno is approximately everywhere you bypass to on the cyber web." And, it replaced into real, on the start.

This is my biggest issue with people.
How can you people call yourselves "fans" if you can't even support the artist or band?
The songs on iTunes are 99 cents each.
You don't have a dollar to buy a song? Then don't get it at all!!
I buy all my music because I believe illegally downloading is so wrong on every level!!
The artist/band IS NOT THE ONLY ONES WHO NEED THE MONEY. People who produce the album and work behind the scenes, NEED the money too!!!
Downloading illegally just sets up a crappy example of how people will go the easy route to get anything they want.
One day they'll get caught, and THEN they'll say "oh, maybe this wasn't such a good idea"
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be respectful to yourselves and your favorite bands by supporting them..
Hope this helped =)

The internet was created for the purpose of sharing information, and when you break a song down to it's most fundamental parts, isn't it just tiny bits of information?
Also, downloading is not illegal as long as you use a peer to peer network, like Kazaa and Limewire. It's not illegal for you to let your friend listen to one of your CD's, so how is it wrong to let a thousand friends over the internet listen to it?

Because I can.
The fact that its free motivates me.
Why would my parents care?
I won't stop as long as its available.
As for supporting the bands? I go to their concerts and buy their t-shirts. So we're even. I'm just cutting the RIAA out of the deal. And besides, they owe me. I've been buying cd's and tapes for years at 17-18 dollars each. (ok sometimes $14) And then I find that sometimes there's only 3-4 good songs on it. So they owe me for all the crap they sold to me.

Probably becuz they don't have the money to get it legally. Alot of times, people just like doing the forbidden. It sorta invites some people when they know it's illegal.
