I don't know what the answer would be, but do you really wanna smell bleach on your mattress???? that's no better than dog urine. i would think if you got an upholstery cleaner and used super hot water and vinegar. next time, if you find something that works to remove the urine , get a plastic mattress cover to protect the mattress.
good luck

I'll just tell ya, i love baking soda on just about anything that leaves an Oder. first scrub it with some detergent and water, then let it air dry for a while...(don't get your mattress really wet though or the scent will just go deeper into it) then poor some backing soda on it and let it sit for as long as you can... this should help remove the stain and the Oder so your dog doesn't go back to it again and make another mess.

Theres a cleaning solution called "OUT" that you can purchase at Walmart and it is in the pet department. It is specifically used for cleaning up cat and dog urine, feces and vomit. I have three dogs and I have used this for 6 years now for anytime they have an accident or anytime they get sick and vomit anywhere. It really works great. Good Luck!!

You need an enzyme cleaner - they're the only way to REALLY get urine stains out. You can buy them at the pet store - some brand names are "Nature's Miracle" and "Petastic". Then follow the instructions on the bottle.

What on earth was a dog doing on your mattress in the first place? Dogs should be kept outside. They are animals, not people.

most pet stores carry products to remove urine stains/odors out of cloth.

a combination of peroxide and baking soda also works.

Cheap old white vinegar should do the job then afterwards you could give it a rub with some disinfectant.

i would first use an air puffier to remove the Oder. i would then treat the effect area with an enzyme clean.
