Yes the insurance on a four door is cheaper because it is considered a family car where as a two door is looked at by the insurance co.'s as sports car and therefore the rates for that car will be higher, especially if your in your early to mid twenties.

i own a shop,and yes it is,the reason for this a 4 door car isn't considered to be a sports car,and the insurance rate on them is usually about half of what it would normally be,but we all know some of the better and faster cars are some of the 4 door cars now,but it will save you some money if you own a 4 door car.good luck i hope this helps.

Most generally, yes. I know that the Chevy camaros were considered sports cars, and therefore had a little higher insurance.
