They did it with very little drums, and very pretty harmony as well. I can't think of the name of the song or the lyrics at the moment but if there are Deadheads out there, I am sure you can help me! Thanks!

I am a Grand Deadhead, but the Dead did MANY slow songs that could match your description. They also sang some bluegrass. So, unless you have some lyrics, I don't think anyone can help you. Sorry.

happy birthday jerry we miss you!!!!....of course i do my favorite grateful dead song is scarlet begonias but i love the CD grateful dawg with jerry and david grisman that version of friend of the devil is the best version their is in my opinion...you know i've seen every form of the remaining members of the grateful dead bands (phil lesh & friends, bob weir and ratdog, the other ones, etc.) but never had the chance to see Jerry...but i have over 50 bootlegs of live concerts from the grateful dead to cover what i'll never be able to experience

not enough info to figure it out
except for Hendrix, Garcia was the best guitarist ever I think
he played in a slow soulful way
maybe list some words from the song
or go on yahoo music and listen to a bunch of his songs, maybe you find more of them that you like

Wow, that is not really limiting it, but it may be:
Attics of my life
Brokedown Palace
China Doll
a lot of people said Ripple, but there isn't too much harmony in it.
I am betting it is one of these 3!!!

Probably Ripple. Beautiful song! Go to amazon.com and music, grateful dead, and albums, find one with that song, and listen to it.
