What: Gathering of Eagles

When: March 17th, 2007
0700-1600 (7 AM to 4 PM)

Where: The Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Wall, Washington D.C.

Why: To stand silent guard over our nation's memorials, in honor of our fallen, and in solidarity with our armed forces in harm's way today.

Taken from Mission Statement:
7. We vehemently oppose the notion that it is possible to “support the troops but not the war.” We are opposed to those groups who would claim support for the troops yet engage in behavior that is demeaning and abusive to the men and women who wear our nation’s uniform.

Will you be there to protect our Nation's Memorials?

I served two tours of duty in Viet Nam. I appreciate those that fought there with me and those that will stand with those of us that fought there, protecting our National Treasurers from those that have no respect for the for the troops that are fighting for our county. They claim to support the troop "100" percent. If they are in D.C. to protest the President then why are they having their protest at the troops Head Quarters and not at the park across from the White House. The military and the D.C. Police will put their lives on the line to make sure the terrorist that they love so much does not plant a bomb and ruin their party.. Some of my friends will be there from Nam. I will say to the protesters, you don't want these men against you. They look at you sludge puppies as someone that has too many teeth in their mouths.

Why No, No i've got no longer, yet I certainly might choose to using fact I served in Viet Nam and do unlike those that protest the lads that are struggling with for their freedoms and then spit of their faces using fact they think of every person has to do and be only like them and their teeny weenie little bitty minds that refuse to have an self sustaining theory of their very own or are incapable of it

Hey, you have every right to be there, but just try to talk to and listen to some of the protesters on the other side (me included, I will be there). A nation divided doesn't look too good to the enemy either, now does it???

Also, your protest seems a little reactive to me. Afterall, there are always a few cons screaming at us fromt he sidelines, while meanwhile THOUSANDS of people fill the street. But you organizing a march to march against us is a little childish. You don't need to protect your memorials either. I have the utmost respect for our fallen soldiers and I have been to many anti-war protests in DC and stopped by the memorial each time for a moment of silence to honor the fallen. You have no idea how patriotic some of us really are. Give us a chance and stop being so defensive and close-minded.

My self and my husband will be there. He is a former Marine and we support our military. God bless America. We are meeting at 7:00, at which time we can purchase arm bands and shirts. We were told that a group calling themselves "Answers" will be trying to instigate altercations. Their plan is to record anything negative from us cut out their part and play the victim. Someone also hacked the Gather of Eagle server and crashed it for a while. I guess the anti-war protesters believe that they are the only ones allowed to have a voice.

That argument that it is impossible to support the troops while being opposed to the war is not based on any ground as far as I am concerned. I don't support the war but I would gladly support a bill to arm our troops properly if they are going to fight as they have been unequipped since the start of this war, now who supports our troops?
Maybe you should bring that up at your gathering... that those that died, should have had more support from those that asked them to go...
