I can't figure out what kind of tree this is in my yard.. I live in the southeast US and my tree blooms beautifully in the spring with hundreds of beautiful pink flowers, about palm-size... the tree is about medium size.

It is likely either a Magnolia or a Dogwood.

More description is needed to tell. The number of petals is very important to identification. If it has four, it's probably a Dogwood, if it has more, probably a Magnolia.

Hard to say without actually seeing it. Guesses would be some variety of Magnolia or Dogwood. I lean toward Magnolia as Dogwood flowers are smaller.Try arborday.org

sounds like you have a lily tree. does it look like a dead pine tree when there are no leaves on it? does it have leaves all year ? may need more info to get spacific type as there are many trees here in the south

I think it is indeed magnolia.
