a friend of mine in alabama filed debtors court on back child support.how do you go about doing this?

i don't think you can file bankruptcy on child support. that is something you have to pay no matter what like the IRS and student loans

You are both mislead...You CANNOT file bankruptcy for child/spousal support. It's like taxes they only go away when you PAY. Are you aware that when your child(ren) turn 18 and you no longer have to pay child support....you will still owe back child support PLUS 10% interest.

Even if it takes you until your kid is 50 years old to pay it...you WILL have to pay it.

today, child support arrears are forever... even if that child(ren) are 30 and getting married now.

that must have been a very long time ago, laws today dont allow it.
