Women don't get baby fever until their early twenties. At least that's when it hit me. I know I didn't want a baby when I was a teenager. I got pregnant but wasn't planning on it. I had been using the patch as birth control and after a few months I ended up pregnant. Anyways, there are many reasons teenagers fall pregnant. Some people don't have close bonds with their parents. some people don't have a father figure in their life. Some just want to rebel against their parents. I can go on and on. Not every teen that gets pregnant fits the usual profile. One teen could get pregnant because she's trying to rebel against her parents while another gets pregnant when birth control fails her.

I believe that it is not baby fever, I believe it is the lack of supervision. Teens today are skipping the basic pleasures like playing sports, cheerleading, drama club, girls pajama parties, what happened to all that stuff, they are going straight to partying, they have teen clubs now, that leave the door open for sex. Its not always the parents fault, because their are parents who are very good, and just can't keep an eye on theur teens all the time, because of a financial situation, because they know they have to support their teens, but don't always have a strong support system.

I agree with ashley 100%. I got pregnant at 15 and had my angel at 16 I am now 18 and I love the life I live. Maybe the reason behind teens having babies, is that the almighty GOD wants to help these teens, some of us need an extra boost to grown up. I know my son changed me 1000% for sure. It's the teens that run around and have sex with every damn fred, jake and chris and then get pregnant, there the ones who make US look BAD. I know I am probabally a better mom than most of the 30 years olds out there. The way me and my family look at it is that we can grow up with our kids, be happy and still be happy and feel good when they are old enough to move out, not all tired and worn down.. I AM A TEEN MOM AND I WOULDNT CHANGE IT FOR THE WORLD!

I've worked with young teens for years. For many girls it is a status thing. Her girlfriends all make a big fuss over her. Many times the boyfriend has moved on. One 16 year old boy told his 15 year old girlfriend, " Call me when you ain't pregant no more". And, she probably will. Just like a young child loves playing with the puppy but later has no time for the full grown dog. That's the problem with " baby fever"... that cute baby will not stay a baby forever. Then who will care for him/her??

It could be the reason why. There are a number of reasons teens want babies. They think their parents don't love them enough. They think a baby will give them unconditional love. Peer pressure. All their friends have babies or are pregnant. They think the guy will stay with them if they are pregnant. They think their old enough to raise a baby.

The only reason why there r So many Teen mothers are because They don't know how to control their homomones and they might wanted to see how it feel being a teen mother. But to me I think its tough because the teen have yo go to school and get an education and might have to find a job because the baby will need some food and clothing and bottles..........

Because some parents are too wrapped up in their own wants and ambitions and neglect the kids. They do not know where they are and what they are doing.

Some do it for attention, some do it, just to going against their parents, and some do it thinking they will have someone that loves then that will be there.

If parents took more time with their kids, we could cut the numbers by at least 50%

For one thing im NOT a stupid teen that went out there and got pregnant or got pregnant just because i wanted a baby. I was on birthcontrol and guess what it was the patch and well it didnt work and my daughter is here today and guess what i wouldnt change NOTHING! Im glad i got pregnant i love that little girl and i dont sport her around. I hate when people stare at me and say stuff behide my back they dont know me and they dont know how i got pregnant for all they know i could have been raped, but i mean it doesnt matter to anyone anyways its just another teen with a baby on her hip right? Yea there are some girls out there that get pregnant because they want a baby and thats wrong cause the baby is going to grow up with a child. (their mom or dad) And whats all this talk about the girls being hoes and everything.. what about the fathers that get the girls pregnant and leaves? What about their sorry asses!? All i hear is about the girls. I think before people opens their mouths about something they should stop and think about it for a minute. Whats the old saying.. if you aint got nothing nice to say dont say nothing at all?!!!!

Teenagers' brains are not fully developed so they often tend to disregard the rules and act recklessly (though not all). If they really don't want to get pregnant they should not be opening their legs! They're too young! If schools and parents talked to their teens about the responsibilities of having a child and they still don't listen...well what is there to do?

No it's because the moral attitude of society is degraded from when I was growing up where sex was taught as a part of marriage and love, not of lust and hormones. Hormones have always been a part of it but we were taught to control them and to redirect our attention on healthy things and that sex was to be shared among a man and woman, not a man and man or woman and woman but only with a man and woman who love each other as God intended us to do. We are to love each other as God loves us. He loved us enough that he sent his son, Jesus Christ to die for us and to pay the penalty for our sins. John 3:16-18 Read it live it and love it. I have been a minister for a number of years and work to teach moral living to young people.
