AFI or My Chemical Romance, Who is better?

AFI. Easy.

AFI has been making music for 16, yes that's right SIXTEEN years. Probably even older than the age of most of the people who laughably say they suck and that MCR is better.

One AFI album beats the sh*t out of everything MCR has done. (Sorry Bella Mars). They're completely and absolutely better live onstage aswell. I was unfortunate enough to witness how horrible and extremely boring MCR are live.

AFI has hardcore and punk cred up their sleeves. They were very much a punk powerhouse back in their early days. Their first 3 albums were pure quality punk records and anyone in the punk circuit knows that.

They've released ALOT of records, alot more than MCR. They are known to have one of the best fanbase ever to be attached and devoted to any band. I'm not talking about 11 yr old newbies (no offense), I'm talking about those old crazy, obssessed ones who will beat the crap out of those who say sh*t.

They've toured for many, many years and have played and hung out numerous times at Gilman street, a legendary punk venue.

MCR compares to NOTHING against A.F.I.
A.F.I owns MCR and they know it.

I love MCR, but I'd have to say AFI. I think their music has more depth and meaning to it and have many different themes to it, they've been around longer and therefore are more respected. They've worked hard for years and years to develop a devoted following. Critics and magazines identify AFI to have fans who are obsessive, dedicated, and protective (not saying MCR isn't because I met some) I personally think that no other band can reach AFI's level. my chemical romance is one of my favorite bands, I do think they have potential for longetivity, and they are one of the most talented bands of today, they put on a great show, but only time will tell about them.

As for AFI, I never had a passion, or have been touched as I have with other bands as I do with AFI. There are other bands that I identify with and passionte with (mcr being one) but never will ever reach the heights of AFI.

I love both bands to death, they're both awesome and two of my favorite bands... But MCR is my favorite band of all time. I think (compared to where MCR is right now) AFI has more musical talent because they have more music experience than My Chemical Romance, but I can relate more to MCR's lyrics.

That one is hard...I just love both of them!!! Both have newer CD's that are out, and both are my fav's of all time!
AFI's December Underground and MCR"s the Black Parade. But if I had to choose I think AFI is better, but only slightly better!

Both are great bands. But I would have to go with AFI because their songs have interesting meanings (not the MCR doesn't) and they been around for ages.

well My Chem have been around for dunno...5 or so years and AFI have been around for 16 years.
no comparison there.

also, they play a different genre.

good Charlotte! they're my popular. yet I do like AFI and all of the others you indexed. And if every physique desires any new song to take heed to e mail me because of the fact song is my existence and that i understand lots LOT LOT of bands you probable have not heard of!!!! And specific, Panic! isn't particularly punk. And, specific THE RAMONES!!!! or how bout Wendy and the Plasmatics??? The Jam???
