I know there r a lot of free programs , but not sure I have the time or the desire to go thru them & see what ones I think i can manage. I also am not sure how much time it takes 2 pull a site together...I am busy and don't know if I have the time 2 dedicate 2 designing my own site. I expect 2 get quite a lot of traffic. I am a faux finisher, just starting 2 blow up professionally in my area (Mass.) I need a web presence to make myself look more professional & legit to the contractors and especially the architects,& large construction firms I deal with. I need 2 really showcase my projects & designs. Also I am an instructor for some plaster products & will be retailer for others so people will be coming 2 my site after being directed from these product sites. Should be fairly simple .. I don't need guestbook or anything, just a pretty site that showcases my photos, maybe with a slideshow maybe not, and a contact me email link.
Contact with costs & I will get back to you! Grazie Mille!

Why don't you try a pre-designed template? They are really easy to use and cost next to nothing.

I have bought templates from ClikOnTemplates.com and they offer free support as well. The link below shows some interior designer templates.

Ciao Julie

Please please please go with a professional. Half my work is dealing either with amateurs who "think" they can make a website, or even worse other web designers who do not stay up to date with web design practises. The result of both of these scenarios is that they have a website that is either ugly, unusable, unproductive or all three lol. It's 3000 percent easier to start right from the beginning. I'm sure you will get lots of contacts with costs, don't just go for the cheapest, have someone that knows check out the quality of their work. Web design at it's simplest is a two level process, the window dressing i.e. what the viewer sees and the blood and guts i.e. the coding and what makes it tick. Make sure both are in tip top shape.

You want a quality site to show off your designs and look professional.

If you know how to work with templates then there are some good ones around. Templatemonster and BoxedArt are two good ones. You will also have to know how to manage and uplift your graphics - my guess is that is a skill you don't have.

Best option is to sign up on guru.com and freelance.com and rentacoder.com - define your project well - number of pages etc and then ask for quotes.

Alternatively you can go to hostgator.com and use their site builder - you get with your hosting.

Good luck

Actually, there are now many free hosting (easy-to-create-website) for you to use. You may choose from the urls below:

http://members.freewebs.com/
http://www.bravenet.com/
http://www.templatesbox.com/
http://www.freewebtemplates.com/...

Building your own website nowadays is very easy. But then, once you have your own page online, you really have to do some web marketing to gain visitors. And this, you have to research. Good Luck!

You need a domain name to start. You can get free code to put your pictures of your work in a slide show format. If you need a domain name, hosting, and email accounts, all for a low cost under one roof, email me mark@homeforwork.ws
