there are 3 dials, the left is the temperature dial, the middle looks like a timer and the right one has MAX written at the top. If anyone could let me know what numbers etc should be there either with a description or a photo I'd be very grateful.

If you don't get the information from the manufacturers try this. Turn the dial fully clockwise this should be Max and make a mark with a felt pen, then turn the dial fully anti clockwise this should be Min and make another mark, you should be able to mark the the spaces in between.
This is not the ideal answer but should be enough for you to be able to operate the oven and will be OK with experience.

We had ariston as a part of a fitted kitchen and ours went the same way. Sorry I cant help with the numbers we ripped ours out and fitted a Smeg.

you can contact the company they will ask for the model number so have that in hand when you call (probably found on the inside of the oven door ) they will be able to send you new knobs for your model ,if it is an older model they will send you an equivelent replacement for your model i can't say it will be free but the cost will be low ,doing it this way will ensure you don't burn the house down ,:)

buy new ones from Ariston or the nearest shop who stock

If you can slide the oven out on the back should be a serial number - this would really help anyone to identify your oven. goodluck :)
