if you listen on BBC & SKY they don't shut up about him! i know he has had a great career and was good at Celtic but 3 goals in 12 games? its hardly prolific. and as far as i have seen him play he has been "OK" not amazing. but on match of the day you would think he had scored 12 in 12 or something! so what is SOOOOOOO good about him?

Im with you - he has done as a bit part player, but purely based on his performances with us, I wouldnt like to think he was leading our line all season. God, we will miss him with the injuries that we have at the minute, but to be fair, i dont think that he has been the player, the BBC in particular, seem to think he is. He was great against Pompey though!

henrik larsson is a great footballer and all his 3 goals were really helpful 1 with lille to qualify and one in the League or FA Cup which made Man Utd go through but I still think Saha would be better and Larsson is like what 31 or something so he'll probalby retire in a couple of years or so. Lets see whats gonna happen today where he plays for the Eyro XI team.

You obviously haven't been watching very hard if you think he is average. There is a reason everybody raves about him and that is because he is fantastic.
He creates just as many goals as he scores and 3 goals is hardly bad considering he has just moved to a league he has never played in before. Look at Shevchenko for proof of that!
I'm not a Man Utd fan but I agree with everyone saying he is great.

He was not as good as I expected him to be. I'm a Man U supporter and I had found out last year on this website infact that he was coming to us on loan and I was a bit excited. I thought he was going to supply us with more goals to add on to the goal fest we would expect from Rooney and Saha so then we'll be in an untouchable position in the area of goals. But sadly after his explosive display in his 1st ever game in England in the FA Cup 3rd round scoring 2 goals, he didn't do that.

His influence on the rest of the Manchester United team lifted the squad and I think they were unbeaten in his time there. For the likes of Wayne Rooney playing alongside Larsson for a few games will teach him more lessons than a season up front with Saha

personnaly i think he has been below par for united. when he came over everyone thought man utd will win the league they are 6 points clear and Larsson is class and when he leaves the title race will be over.
i agree with you only three in twelve thats not that good and i think if Saha was fit he would have done much better.
Larsson has linked up well with Rooney thats all i think he has done well.
at the end of they day if Chelsea beat City we will only be 6 points ahead.

you completely miss the point... football is not a game of individuals... it's a team sports...
the reason why people are purring over larsson is because of the intangible contributions he brings to man utd's game...it's amazing at how he holds the ball, passes, scores, helps in the defense, attacks, etc..
these are qualities of a world class player and he was tasked to perform at the highest levels at a relatively short period of time...

The people who have praised Henrik Larsson, are QUITE RIGHT, to have DONE SO!
The guy's been TOTALLY AWESOME! It is NOT simply, a matter of hitting the back of the NET, - his ALL-ROUND ABILITY, is UNPARALLELED! I just WISH he'd gone to MY team, - who could DO with his help!
And, - believe ME, - I HATE saying THAT, because I am NOT Manchester United FAN! But, I HAVE to say it, - because I just know INDIVIDUAL BRILLIANCE, when I SEE IT!

i answered a q similiar to this the other day, he may be a great player and scored goals we needed for us but he has not had time to settle in and make a mark. i will not miss him hughly it's just a shame he's timed his leaving with us picking up injuries.
