You *can* try to find someone to "take over your service", but they would be subject to the credit approval of the cell phone company. It's not likely you're going to find someone to take over your contract because anyone interested in getting cell phone service is going to go straight to the wireless company.
Here's a better suggestion: Call your wireless provider and ask if there's a really cheap plan that doesn't include any minutes per month...for emergencies only. Move to that plan (when I worked at US Cellular, it was $10 per month from that company) and ride out your contract on that plan. It's cheaper than paying the termination fee.

Or, you could do what Ive done. overpay your next bill by ten dollars. After that you should call you service provider and tell them you want to see if there is any better plans out there, or you found a better value and you want to see if the service is any better with that company, you don't want to cancel you just want to put yr account on hold. once you've done that just don't worry about them. the cant end your account and collect on the fee because they technically owe you. kiss the $10.00 good buy and save about $140. its worked for me for over three yrs. they will continue to send you invoices but they will state " do not pay this bill". I suggest that you check them just in case the get wise to it and change terms. hope this helps.

as mentioned try ebay or craigslist or classifides. don't remember where, but there was a web site, where you could offer your contract for bids.. try using a search engine and type in cell phone contract sale/trades.. good luck

you may desire to purchase a cellular telephone at any considerable cellular telephone enterprise as follows: Verizon, Cingular, sprint, T-cellular, etc. the only undertaking devoid of no longer signing a settlement is that in case you would be able to desire to purchase a telephone you would be able to desire to pay finished retail cost which could get very costly.
