How do you think the relationship within families and households have changed over time?
there are far more single parent familys recently and younge familys aswell I think this is due to how easy a divorce is granted and lack of good sex education it is very off putting for a child to have a 40 50 year old telling them the birds and bees

5.What is your opinion on the modern family?
I beleive that a modern family do not have enough quality time together and they need to spend more time out rather then in frount of the tv

Are you’re from : Two parent family for the most part

Do you live alone? no

4.NOTE : IF YOU ARE MARRIED

*If so how many: 2

How do you think the relationship within families and households have changed over time? The level of control men used to have has declined while the amount of control women used to have has increased to near equal. Also, families are more out for themselves than they used to be, so the family unit is having difficulty. We need to get back to the roots- FAMILY FIRST

5.What is your opinion on the modern family? It needs help. We need to remeber our responsibilities. LOVE EACH OTHER UNCONDITIONALLY

6. How do you think gender roles have changed within families and households? THe roles have not changed, however, the lines have become very blurred, almost non-existent. No longer are women stuck in a housewife rut, and men are no expected to simply earn the money and be waited on hand and foot. A sharing of the responsibilities is more common today, but the roles are still there.

1. Female
2. 24
3. Divorced, 2 parent family (now divorced), No
4. -
5. Deciding to have a family is a life long commitment, with dependants obviously depending on you. Families should be established between a couple, when both agree to it, and raise the children together in one household. A house that accomodates the immediate family is ideal, allows the family to grow and have daily communications with each direct family member. In my personal opinion, at least one parent should be out working full time, allowing the other to either be a stay at home parent or a part time worker, or full time if so desired.
6. It used to be widely common for a mother to be a house wife, and the father being the 'bread' earner. I feel that this has changed. Many more women like to focus on a career aswell, and often put off having children till later on in life. Where as many fathers now like to be the stay at home parent whilst the female goes out earning money.

1 male.
2 51.
3. married.
two parent.
no.
4. yes.
yes.
3.
i am not sure in what context you wish this answered?
within my own family over the time we have all been together?
or
families in general over time?
5. i am not sure this is not a generalisation,
however i know many families and some are so close that you could not fit a playing card between them,
and others are so different that they hardly spend any time together.
both types are happy and both believe that ther way is the best and a good family environment.
this said,
i personally feel that families are drifting more and more apart,
ask how many sit down at a communal table and eat together, how many go en mass to the cinema or similar night out.
i am not talking about when you have to take your children with you, i am talking about when your children want to go with you.
i think that you will find that their are fewer families in the second category, though i would be chuffed to my gutties to be proven wrong.
6. sure they have changed,
there are so many families single parent or both working longer and longer hours that the traditional roles have all but vanished.
people have adapted to their circumstances
and live it to suite them.
is this right or wrong? we will have to wait and see.

4 yes, yes (1 boy aged 3), not that much
5 the kids now adays get away with total murder(no respect for their elders, vandalism, bullying
6 gender roles havent changed that much the odd father staying in at weekends to watch the kids whilst the mother goes out, and more mothers working full time instead of being a full time mum

1. Female
2.26yrs
3. From a 1 parent family
4. n/a
5. A modern family is ok, think we need to sometimes move with the times BUT as regards to children in private day care while parents work, I do think it's wrong in my opinion. Some children are in full day care from being babies...they really should be at home with their parents or mum spending quality time together.
6.I dont have much experience on this but personally I dont think they have changed a great deal..

Hope this helps?

1. Female
2. 31
3.Married (previous divorce)
I am from a 2 parent household mother & step-father
4. Yes,
3 dependant children, I think Most children grow up without one of their natural parents- nearly always the Father.

My opinion of the modern family;
Men are not men any more and run from their responsibilities. This lack of character in today's men is destroying the fabric of our society.
