Many factors can contribute to a woman losing her sexual drive . It can happen to young women and elderly just the same and is no less devastating whenever it happens.

1. Menopause or other hormonal imbalance
2. Excessive stress
3. Medications
4. Disability - both physical and mental
5. Childbirth
6. Sexual dysfunction
7. Her partner's lack of response to her
8. Her own lack of interest in sex
9. Depression
10. Sexual assault
11 Domestic violence - past or present incidents

Yes, she can get her sex drive back in many instances. Most of the time sexual drive loss is a very temporary occurrance, much like when a man does not "rise to the occasion" sometimes. Some occurances do take time, patience, therapy, and even medication, to overcome. A very few instances she will not ever recover, but those cases are very rare and far between.

Being in long relationships I come to realize that it is reptition that makes us lose the sex drive. Change is always good way to gain it back. New positions, role playing, different places to try, or using accesories. There is no certain age that this happens, it really depends on the indiviual and how she feels towards this.

Women are driven by hormones, adn several factors can affect this... stress, diet, sleep, water.... when they reach the menopause the hormones go crazy, it's a complete mess and they lose much sex drive... however with the right dose of hormones things are usually solved.

Aside from medical conditions and emotional trauma, I would have to saaaay........
It's usually because she's preoccupied with thoughts of how to escape her marriage. Once it dawns on her that she's either married a chauvinist or adopted an adult son, (or 'man-child' if you will) she' overcome with shock, disgust and anger and suddenly feels compelled to grow up and claim her life back. Sooooo, when the majority of focus is on re-organizing her life - sex is the last thing on her mind.

Once she's repossesed her own life..POOF! sex drive comes back full-force...!
