Dark matter is matter, not directly observed and of unknown composition, that does not emit or reflect enough electromagnetic radiation to be detected directly, but whose presence can be inferred from gravitational effects on visible matter
So in a nutshell, it is of unknown composition and no one knows, they can only guess from it's affect on it's surroundings

Dark matter is five times as abundant in weight as visible matter.
mass of universe
80% is dark matter
15% is very hot gas between galaxies
5% is visible matter eg stars.

you can calculate the density of dark matter by the rotation curves of spiral galaxies but as a gas dark matter's density can change depending on the mass of visible matter.

There is no evidence that dark matter exists.
It is an invention to try to explain the action of spiral galaxies.
It would have to have enough density to exert a gravitational field that would prevent a rotating galaxy from flying apart.
Huh,fat chance!

I cant undergo in techniques for the existence of me (isnt it approximately seventy 5% of the mass of the universe?). finding on what you're certainly asking, i'd recommend analyzing up on Einsteins consistent and open/closed/flat universes (im beneficial wiki would help). it is going to declare someplace that dark count has to have a definite density as a manner to offer the fee of growth we see interior the universe. Sorry i haven't any of my degree notes with me to help!

theres no much knowledge about it that no one is know how dense is the dark matter
