If the "flame" is supposed to come directly from Athens, via a running human, how do they get it across the Atlantic/Pacific? No open flames on airplanes, does the poor marathoner jog around a cargo ship for weeks?

They don't use a passenger flight, they use a chartered flight and keep the flame lit constantly.
PS: I believe that the flame is traditionally lit in Olympia, not Athens.

They run underwater, on the bottom of the ocean. They use magnesium for the flame of the torch.

We had special Torches, for small distances, island to island, they burn underwater like the ones you see the divers use in movies. For the rest of the way, boat or even plane for the ocean.

They run real fast. Kind of like those lizards you see. They have to put a special shield on the torch to keep it from going out from the wind though.

they actualy do use a plane..they put the flame(s) in a special container so it doesn't go out..they also have multiple flames just i case that happens.
What they do is put in something like a kerosine thing and turn way down
