theres this one "star" that is freaking me out, it moves (goes in and out of the treeline etc.) and its orange, not the white color like the other stars, and it looks to be really close or closer than the other stars in the sky.

That's possibly not a star, i believe its Mars it appears like a shining red or orange dot in the sky.

Where do you live, and what part of the sky is it in at what time? You can plug your latitude/longitude and time into a sky map (e.g. http://www.fourmilab.ch/yoursky/) and see what's in that part of the sky. Normally I'd say it's Venus, though lately it's hanging out near the Sun (as is Mars), so it's unlikely you'd be seeing it at night.
