i know it's blashphemous, but i want to change the paint color of my sunburst epiphone les paul . i hate red and orange sunburst, but it was a gift. i dont want to exchange the guitar because ive modded the pickups and action. is there a professional place online where I can send in my guitar and have have it proffessionally custom painted??

Be careful -- the finish on a guitar is as important as the wood and the construction. It affects the sound. You might like how it looks when you are done, but you may absolutely hate the sound, and then it might be too late to get the sound 'back'.

Only a good luthier should mess with it. Find a luthier in the phone-book, and ask him if he can recommend a re-finisher (or maybe you'lll get lucky and the first luthier is skilled in re-finishing guitars).

We do repaints all the time, but most people are shocked about the cost... usually about $400 for a single color. Then they try it themselves and we see them again when they ask us to straighten out their work. Sometimes we can and sometimes we can't.

It takes about a month to 6 weeks for a professional repaint and an insane amount of handwork especially with a guitar that has a bound body such as yours.

I suggest that you reconsider your thoughts.
