But when you say something that they disagree with, they smear you, call you names (racist, sexist, biggot, etc), and demand an apology. The most recent example is Gen Pace calling homosexuality amoral. He has the right to believe this. It probably comes from his religious beliefs.

Free speech is about the right to have an opinion, but not a right to force someone to have to listen to it.

They believe they are superior. I've noticed it on both sides, but it's much more prevalent in the liberal community. Liberals also tend to resort to violence if they don't feel they are being heard.

Part of free speech is being allowed to tell others what you think of their free speech.
Free speech is freedom to express views without reprisals from the government for disagreeing with the government.
Free speech isn't freedom of the government against criticism by the citizens.
What's most striking about your question is you don't see any irony in it, while acting like the liberals should not be able to express their opinions about his views.
Remember, he's not just speaking about his own personal opinion, but he's expressing a view in his capacity as a government and military official.

The general did not call it amoral, he called it immoral. To many times people are using amoral instead of immoral. Amorality is the absence of moral or etical concerns. A lion eating a giraffe is an amoral action, as it is instinct of both creatures to engage in that behavior, and they lack the will to overcome instinct.
Being a f a g g o t is immoral because, whatever ones perverse insticts, people have the will to override instinct. When f a g g o t s choose instinct over will and self control, they commit an immoral act, similar to fornication or adultery. As a nation, we should not condone immorality. That message was the central crux of the general's point.

for the same reason conservative think free speech is a one way street,if someone disagrees with them. any has the right to opinion and free speech,but they have no right to expect someone else not to have to have a different opinion an exercise their free speech. seems the whole lib/con hatefest is full of hypocrites from both sides.

Liberals idea of free speech is that you are free to agree with them on every issue. They are free to demonize you if you disagree with you. Why do you think that Ann Coulter rattles them so much.
