For her age group, we can raise bunnies or chickens.

I hate birds, so we will be going with bunnies if we do it.

Should I get her one of those big huge 30 lb. rabbits?? We can name it killer and teach it to sic people.

OMG! That would be awesome, but don't name it killer. Give it a girly name so that people think it's friendly until it bites the crap out of them.

I had a Netherlands dwarf for 11 years [ peanut bunny] they are friendly and easy to raise . I see a lot of them at the 4-H fair .Peanut would nip at people who treated him rough but he never broke the skin. Rabbit poop is good for the garden and one of those giant breeds would create enough for a decent size garden be warned.

Do a lot of research first. Rabbits are cute but they do not make very good pets They are messy and require a lot of work. Small children will loose interest quickly. You will be the one caring for the rabbit. Try a small rabbit first. Good luck.

Chickens are way dirtier than the rabbits. If you ever get a chance, we raised pigs. The boys trained them to walk with them and took them to the show. Then we ate them. We had a freezer full of pork chops and sausage for years. Best Pork chops I ever had.

I'd choose bunnies too.

Chickens stink, especially when it's hot outside.

AND, you can make little outfits for the bunny to wear, like cutoffs and a mullet to get into character for WT Wednesday.

Well, they breed so fast that, if you aren't careful, you can have a bunny army the size of China. If so and you can teach them to march in line, you have great earning potential for the circus.

at the same time as i replaced into in 4-H (at the same time as i replaced into 9) i replaced into in contact with rabbits. I confirmed my 2 mini lops (pokey and flopsy) and were given 2 blue ribbons. unhappy issue for me is i got here across out Pokey replaced into truly a boy no longer a woman bunny. The stupid breeder informed us he replaced right into a woman. the in undemanding words undesirable issue replaced into that Pokey did no longer have a lot of muscle and Flopsy jumped out of my fingers and ran by the dirt at the same time as i replaced into wearing her to the exhibiting sales area. I actually were given 4th position retaining the 4-H pledge too.

lol - my daughter did this in grade school and contacted an area farm to let her use a egg incubator and some chicken eggs to see the chickens hatch.

My daughter got VERY impatient waiting for the chickens to hatch, so one night, unknown to me, she went and stuck her finger in the eggs to "try" and get them to come out.

Needless to say they died.

She quit 4-H after that.
