Evolution, by the very way it carries itself out, is an imperfect process. So when a person is born with an undesirable genetic trait, what right does the rest of the population have to question the legitimacy of that individual's existence? This is even more complicated that, provided homosexuality is genetic, it's far from just a genetic one-off; it's an expression shared by hundreds of millions of people. So you're basically condemning an entire sector of the population to a dark corner of society because of the way their brains are wired? What basis (morally, ethically, realistically) do you have to do that?

I mean "undesirable" genetically, instead of psychologically.

I should've known that "assume" was too big of a word.

Such is the wisdom of one who understands, but sadly, such wisdom is not common among the common man.
You must also remember, only the advent of monotheism made homosexuality immoral or wrong, before that and even during, many societies saw this "undesirable genetic trait" as something special. To this day, many native cultures consider gays to be 'two spirited' and thus blessed by the creator.

But that's precicely the Judeo-Christian tradition. Imperfect (in thier mind) beings of any kind are worth less than a perfect being. That's the idea behind perfect and imperfect sheep. That's why women are worth 1/2 the value of men. That's why racism gets a foothold.
People like to live in a world of polarities ... male and female, right and wrong, good and bad. Homosexuality breaks that mold. Transsexualism is even worse.
The religious have their scripture, and they've managed to twist verses that had nothing to do with homosexuality in order to condemn it. Words originally meaning "temple prostitute" or "lavish" were twisted to mean homosexual. It's institutionalized bigotry used to support a specific view of what the world should be, and those that don't fit the mold are branded as defective.

You are right and I agree with everything that you are saying. Personally I do not condemn gays, but I understand the other side of the spectrum in special circumstances. I think that sometimes what might cause many to get their panties in a bunch over homosexuality is because the way in which gays flaunt their sexuality. Some gays seem to be very open and almost exaggerate their sexual preferences. Personally I think it's tasteless to any extent to flaunt your sexuality whether you are gay or not. It seems like half of the gay population is flamboyant and might act inappropriately and in turn frighten the people that are already against it. I don't think that being homosexual should be a lifestyle, but it has become that for many.

First, homosexuality is psychological, a minimum of interior different procedures in which that's expressed. The reason is exceedingly a lot easily organic and organic in men, and the shape in which that's expressed is going to be inspired by ability of existence memories, with earlier memories being more beneficial effective than later ones. Many psychological features have organic and organic origins. Being very shy, psychopathic, autistic, having Down's syndrome, those are all situations that are genetic in foundation which have profound psychological outcomes on the man. Homosexuality is yet another such situation--organic and organic in foundation, a minimum of in men, and both physiological and psychological in expression. Now, as for your major question, for sure we are inspired strongly by ability of our dad and mom. those those who're diverse in our sexuality are taught that that's a foul issue to be and locate the fashion to both repress who we are or to be embarrassed about expressing it. both are risky and may reason adjustment complications, and ultimately come out a lot later, after the man has lived an unhappy existence, probably being in relationships that for this reason damage human beings at the same time as they locate they can't stay with the lie to any extent further. Hiding your real self eats away at your soul (or spirit, or self photograph, and so on.) in spite of the undeniable fact that it would not make that self bypass away. sure, repression does a procedures more beneficial to damage households than does being openly gay. the guy who accepts that he's gay early on can discover pleasing relationships. The gay guy who represses this can finally end up in an unhappy marriage to a woman he would not love, which hurts each body at the same time as it does ultimately come out. The more beneficial loose we are to expess who we are as human beings, the more beneficial useful and more acceptable the households formed will be.

There can be no basis for it. While most of the world believes in God or some other higher power, all of the religions of the world were established by men and as such are all flawed. Everyone must decide for themselves the path that they will choose in life. We all will run into problems when we begin dictating the path of others.

Its not an undesireble trait... like wanting to scratch your ***! Its not a lifestyle or a way a person's brain is wired either.. Homosexuality is merely your sexual inclination. Meaning you are attracted to the same sex. It doesn't make you diffenrent in any other way. Everything else about a homosexual is exactly the same as a straigt person. And besides, none of my gay friends or family members feel they are in a dark corner. They are happy and content!!

I don't even think it's undesirable. The way it can be used and the way it can be treated can be undesirable. It's like red hair--it can be desirable to some people, and the person who has it can feel good about themselves, or it can be undesirable and the person who has it endures lots of teasing, but it's ultimately neutral.

"So when a person is born with an undesirable genetic trait, what right does the rest of the population have to question the legitimacy of that individual's existence?"
No one is questioning their existence just their choice of abnormal behavior just as we would an alcoholic person, a multiple sex attracted person, a porn attracted person etc., etc.
Just as we help these people overcome their abnormal feelings of attraction why not help this same sex attracted group overcome their abnormal feelings... if they desire to do so. If not, just like the former, so be it but don't expect the rest of us to accept those behaviors as normal and to be legislated by law as such.

It does not prove that homosexuality is genetic. You were not born gay. Your brain wasn't wired wrong. You were exposed to stuff you shouldn't have seen. Being gay is a choice. You have a desire to be with the same sex. It's completely sexual and it's an abomination by GOD. Science is forever changing, so you can't count on that. The fact remains that as long as people continue to tell you it's okay, there are going to be many gay people, doesn't make the fact any less real that it's wrong. It's a choice not a birth defect. Thank you and may GOD come soon to make right the wrongs that have been done on his earth.

People that abuse alcohol claim the same thing...I am witness to that as well as a loved one who calls himself gay.
As for the person who use to abuse alcohol and made those same excuses along with society pecking at them with misleading agenda filled beliefs...has risen above all that negativity and has gotten rid of "old man" - the person's life is becoming filled with peace more and more each day because the person stopped lying to themselves and listening to the agenda filled communication of others. This person realized the self-abuse as well as the fact they were being used.
