You can use to decorate your hotel room=)
EU countries don't recognise Malaysian driving licence without a valid international driving licence. So you need one in order to drive in Spain. You can apply for an international driving licence at any JPJ office and it'll cost RM100 issued for validity of one year. It's the only validity they issue. Mind also that they drive on the right side of the road in Spain, thus your steering wheel will be on the left side of the car and your gear-stick on your right. Mind that Europeans prefer manual cars to automatic and you might not be able to get an automatic car to rent, so I recommend you to get used to manual transmition if you haven't yet.
Use of seat belts is mandatory for ALL passengers. Fines are high and as a non-EU citizen you'll have to pay on the spot or face police custody. No sudden changes of lanes, turning with no signal, mind also that the traffic in roundabouts is in the opposite direction from Malaysian roundabouts. Trying to bribe police officers will result in your imprisonment, because European cops don't take bribe and they'll report you. No drunken driving also. If you're the first on a traffic light make sure you stop before the white line, not on it and not after it.

I think 'Jennifer' is correct if you are staying in Spain long term, but if it's only for a holiday then 'Oscarone' is correct and you had better get some more details from your travel/ticket agent before you fly off.
Have fun, it's a great country :-)

sPAIN, lovely place, especially Andalusia.
For Asian drivers, in my case car rental accepted my driving licence plus an IDP (International Driving Permit). If you are still in Malaysia get from AAM or if overseas get it from any Travel Agency.
Happy Motoring

You definately might desire to pass by way of a minimum of the belief attempt in case you're questioning to transform your making use of licence. that's going to be superb in case you are able to pass all the way down to any of the making use of faculties (Enuos, Ang Mo Kio or Bukit Batok) site visitors Police section for extra counsel.on changing. some international licence in straight forward terms require you to pass concept tests at the same time as different making use of licence might require you to totally pass throughout the entire making use of lesson technique.

Most car rentals would request for your deposit and passport copy for safeguarding. You do need international driver's license but in the case of holidaying you often might want to get away with the hassle of getting a license. Its not worth it unless you're going to stay there long term.
Driving with a Malaysian license is not a big deal unless you get into an accident over there. Most police officers would let you off when you explain to them why you need to drive and that you are not there for a long stay.
In fact, that's what every tourists do too!
