I am ready for a decent, honest president with some respect for the Constitution and the rule of law. The color or gender of the person doesn't have any bearing on their qualifications.

Or, more simply: Yes.

If the person will cut tax's, reduce government spending, be ethical, and realize government is not the answer to family, they could be green and I would vote for them. Take the race issue out, it is really geting old! Some of my best friends are black and they do not want the next president to be elected becasue they are black, only because he/she can do the job for the good of the country and keep socialism that doesn't work out of it.

I'm English, so I don't really have a say, but I'll add my thoughts.

It would be nice, but I think all ethnic groups will have to get off their asses & vote for the guy to stand any real chance.
There have been some real good alternatives to the present UK government, but because people are basically lazy, they don't bother voting, and so only a couple of the many parties & their candidates stand any chance of success.
Fingers crossed for your man.. :)

It is about time. Black people have been a major part of this country. I hope he treats the rest of the world like a human being not like Bush. I was hoping that it would be a black Lady instead.

A good one would be great, but I'm not ready for Obama unless he changes his positions on several key issues.

It will never happen. Hillary Clinton will see to it that she's the last Demoncrat standing. Will she win? Probably not. But Obama will never see the inside of the Oval Office.

Besides, we already had "the first black president". His name is Bill Clinton.

If your referring to Obama, no. However I voted for Alan Keys in the past, what happened to him? He is much more qualified and he has a lot more than a nice smile and a good personality.

If they are ready to take on the issues in this country, I don't care what color they are.
