why counteract, may be the happiest moment was something very personal and hence we should respect the feeling of our dear one to cherish it , so that the length of such a happy moment can get prolonged. After all true happiness is in short supply in this modern times

There are times and situations when even dearest ones like to be secretive. If you love the person you ought to be tolerant towards that kind of laxity. Only by giving more love can you elicit a loving response. It is quite possible that your dear one concealed because he/she thought you would not react favorably. May be later on in some finer moments truths may be exposed to you in a more interesting manner. May be something that has been kept from you has a purpose. In any case, take it easy.

I guess it should not really matter. Because what you are supposed to know or not is their choice. If he/she is truly dear, you also need to give them space, not suffocate them with your love. Forget counteracting (whatever it means) to preserve the relationship

Always accepting the person as they are becomes the mantra of love, care and affection.
Take it easy.
There might be many reasons for not expressing, but one thing for sure. when u start arguing on silly things LOVE ESCAPES THROUGH WINDOW WHILE HATRED ENTERS THROUGH THE DOOR.
