No, but I use Book Antiqua... its a little more spaced than times new roman but I have never had a prof. be able to tell the difference. Oh, and sometimes I go through and use synonyms and change some of the short words to much longer ones. That's only when I'm desperate! Er... or at least that's what I tell myself!

I had the exact opposite problem. I would always make the paper too long. The professor only wanted 1 page. Do you know that you can fit a six page essay on one page if you shrink the font enough. It was still readable, but the professor was not amused.

I change the font size and margin size to make it longer.

i think that in high school most people did that, but not in college or grad school. it is too risky to do that at that level.
